Vote Gay or Strait

As we approach the most important election of our time does anyone question our voting system? Let’s think back about 8 years ago when there was a similar important election between a man name George Bush and a man name Al Gore. From my understanding Al Gore won the popular vote, which is casted by us American voters. Although there was a large amount of confusion as to what votes to count in Florida, where it just so happened that George Bush’s brother was the governor of the state at the time. It did not matter at the end of the day because apparently George Bush won the electoral vote, which actually counts for something. With that said and who knows and who cares who should have really won eight years ago because we have an important election in just a few weeks. And this concerns me because when I go into the voting booth to cast my vote for who I feel would best run this country. I push a button and curtain closes. I feel as if I have just stepped back in time to cast my vote. And who knows how accurate these old voting machines are and how honest the volunteer counters are? As I see this country waste money on all sorts of things why do they not invest in a new voting system that is actually up to date? With all the technology we have I have to push a button on a machine that was probably built in the 1970’s. I think this should be an important topic that should be brought up. Besides we have to put up with all these TV ads and who knows what even happens to our vote.
