Monday, November 17th, 2008
On Saturday night Boston College defeated Florida State in college football. During the loss Florida State’s safety Darius McClure was injured while celebrating an interception.
On first down at FSU’s 13-yard line,Boston College quarterback Chris Crane rolled to his right and threw toward the end zone, but Bradham deflected the pass and McClure came up with the pick to keep FSU’s bid to overcome a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit alive.
The interception was a highlight of McClure’s career, but it came at a serious cost.
McClure will undergo an MRI today to determine the severity of an apparent torn anterior cruciate ligament. He had to leave the game with 12:19 left when his celebratory jump into teammate Toddrick Verdell ended badly. McClure twisted his knee awkwardly and is expected to miss the remainder of his senior season.
